Not many heavy metal bands can boast of chart positions and two-page bulletins in all the national newspapers for a debut album. Sahg can. With their gloomy chords, ten ton rhythms and a taste for the heavy rock pioneers of the seventies, the Bergen-based quartet had the audience and critics toss their hats in the air with excitement.

Austin, TX: A new release from Lost Art Records captures the legendary singer-songwriter Blaze Foley on his earliest known recordings. Simple, straightforward and strong, “Sittin’ by the Road” contains a dozen tracks recorded during Blaze’s “tree house” days in Georgia.
The 12 tracks featured on “Sittin’ by the Road” were recorded by Blaze in the mid-1970s on the home reel-to-reel machine he carried with him on his travels between Texas and rural Georgia. These songs showcase Blaze’s talent in early form. The CD includes a number of Blaze’s songs that are now considered his classics. Sittin’ also boasts three Foley songs that do not appear on any of his previous recordings; ‘The Way You Smile’, ‘Fat Boy’, and the title track.

Amazing news! Shining has been nominated for the A-ha Grant of 1 million NOK! (This sum equals 150’000 USD / 125’000 EUR.) The band is one of two bands that will receive the award – if they get enough votes from you!
The voting starts Tuesday 15th June, and lasts until Friday 18th June 20:30 CET. Detailed info on how and where to vote to be posted at www.shining.no shortly. And as Jørgen Munkeby says himself: “If there was one time we needed your vote, it is now.”
Munkeby comments, in an upcoming voting propaganda video, to be posted on Shining sites shortly: “The fact that Shining has been nominated for a huge grant by A-ha, the most successful pop act ever to come out of Norway, reminds us of the fact that it is possible to make jazz catchy, and that metal is no longer reserved only for people with big shoes, leather pants, and frizzy hair.”
As a part of the Grant, Shining will perform their single “The Madness and the Damage Done” for an audience of 100’000 people at the City Hall Square in Oslo, Norway, June 18th. This show will also be broadcast for 1 million TV viewers in Norway, one quarter of the whole Norwegian population.

Hank III is releasing his new record (and LAST on Curb Records) called “Rebel Within” on May 25th. Check out the brand new song ’Drinkin’ Ain’t Hard To Do’ on www.myspace.com/hank3
Nashville native Hank Williams III has built his musical brand around hard-hitting songs, an ornery Hellbilly attitude and a do-it-yourself ethos, as he wrote 10 of the album’s 11 original tracks, did the vocals, played drums and the acoustic rhythm guitar parts. And he recorded and produced the album at his home studio. “I don’t like being told what to do, and I don’t need to be told what my record should sound like,” says Hank. “I got that covered.”
